Struggling with persistent back pain or sciatica? Our Spinal Decompression Therapy is a gentle, non-invasive solution designed to relieve pressure on the spine, reduce nerve irritation, and promote healing — all without surgery or medication. Conveniently located in NW Portland, we serve patients from Slabtown, the Pearl District, and beyond.

What Is Spinal Decompression Therapy?

Spinal decompression therapy is a specialized treatment that gently stretches the spine to reduce pressure on spinal discs and nerves. This controlled traction creates space between vertebrae, improving blood flow and encouraging nutrients to reach damaged tissue.

This therapy is especially effective for people suffering from herniated or bulging discs, degenerative disc disease, nerve compression, or sciatica. It’s a comfortable, targeted option for those seeking long-term relief.

Benefits of Spinal Decompression

  • Reduces disc pressure
  • Relieves nerve-related pain
  • Improves spinal alignment
  • Enhances nutrient flow to discs
  • Drug-free, non-invasive, and relaxing

How We Treat with Spinal Decompression

We combine spinal decompression therapy with expert chiropractic care, soft tissue treatment, and rehab strategies tailored to your needs.

Using a specialized table, we provide gentle, computer-controlled traction to target the precise area of concern. Treatments typically last 15–20 minutes and are spaced out over a few weeks depending on your response and goals.

What makes our approach different is that we don’t stop at symptom relief — we address the underlying joint and tissue imbalances to help prevent recurrence.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does spinal decompression hurt?

Not at all. Most patients describe it as relaxing — you may feel a gentle stretch, but no pain.

Q: How many sessions will I need?

That depends on your condition. Many people begin to feel relief after just a few sessions, but long-term results typically require a short series over several weeks.

Q: Is this covered by insurance?

Some plans may offer reimbursement. We also offer simple time-of-service rates and package options for easier access.

Q: Is it the same as inversion therapy?

No — spinal decompression uses targeted, controlled traction and is far more precise and customizable than general inversion.
